Deacon John Sanker, Ext. 12

John has been a member of the parish since 1982. Over the years he has been active in a variety of ways. He has served on different parish committees e.g., helping with the planning for the present church (circa: 1988 -1989) and fund-raising like the PREPARE the WAY Campaign. He has served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. John has been a Knight of Columbus for over forty years; he has been an active member of Council 6100 since joining the parish. He has served as Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and Color Corpsman, and was also chairman of the Paterson Federation of Knights of Columbus for two years.

John is a cum laude graduate of St. Francis University, Loretto, PA. He is a veteran of the U. S. Army, where he served as an Officer in the Military Police. He completed a tour of duty in DaNang, Viet Nam. He retired as a civil servant after more than thirty years at Picatinny Arsenal.

John was ordained to the Diaconate on May 5, 2007. He is serving the St. Jude faith community through the administration of the Sacrament of Baptism, witnessing the Sacrament of Matrimony, proclaiming the Gospel, breaking open the Word by preaching, assisting at Mass and performing other administrative and pastoral tasks.
