Pastor’s Corner

Dear Family of St. Jude,

Ash Wednesday marked the start of a 40-day period of preparation and reflection called Lent. During Lent we are asked to devote ourselves to seeking the Lord in prayer, reading Scripture, celebrating the sacraments, and being of service to others.

Here at St. Jude we have many opportunities to increase our spiritual growth during our Lenten Season. Every Friday evening we will conduct the Stations of the Cross (The Spiritual Journey through the Passion of Christ). Every Monday evening we will have the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession): during Lent we classify it as Welcome Home to Healing. We will also have our Lenten Penance Service on Monday, March 19th. On Saturday, March 10th, we will have A Special Lenten Program entitled: A Day of Reflection with Rev. Jude Salus. This seminar will be an Inspirational Message of Lent. Our Mass with Anointing of the Sick will take place on Saturday, March 3rd.

As you see, you will have many opportunities to prepare for Easter during this Lenten Season. Come and join us. I will be happy to make this preparation with all of you.

The following is a message from Pope Francis for the 2018 Lenten Season:
“Lent summons us, and enables us, to come back to the Lord wholeheartedly and in every aspect of our life.”

God Bless You,
Fr. Antonio
